THE SIX PRINCIPLES OF PILATES

Pilates uses a method that works proximal to distal, from the center to the peripheral body parts. It works the stronger deep muscles of the body, resulting in long, lean, toned muscles, rather than building the weaker superficial muscle that results in bulk.
