PREGNANCY PILATES

We welcome Mums to be into our studio. Our instructors have undergone extensive training and will be able to tailor the exercises to suit all stages of your pregnancy.

You will be able attend our straight reformer pilates and pregnancy reformer classes for your 1st and 2nd trimesters. We ask that women in their 3rd trimester attend our pregnancy pilates classes only as they are tailored specifically for them. You can also combine classes with 1 on 1 sessions.

       

How Can Pilates Help Me In Pregnancy?


Some of the benefits of Reformer Pilates for pregnancy and the postnatal (after birth) period include:

  • Improved posture and alignment throughout pregnancy
  • Faster recovery of core strength, posture and alignment after pregnancy
  • Decreased likelihood of pelvic floor dysfunction and better pelvic floor recovery after birth
  • Improved breath control- important for childbirth!
  • Decreased likelihood of abdominal separation during pregnancy
  • Decreased likelihood of back and joint pain due to muscle imbalances, changing body shape and poor posture
  • Maintain and improve strength without putting excess strain on your joints
  • Relaxation and stress management
We ask that prior to your first reformer pilates class that you attend a complimentary initial assessment with our physiotherapist.
